I had the privilege to spend five months in Cape Town, South Africa. While I was there I did volunteer work at a school, Kannemeyer Primary, with kids from Kindergarten to grade 7. I was one of their Physical Training (PT) coaches, and I ran the gym class. We played lots of games every week, soccer being the one we played most. The kids in South Africa love soccer. Read More…

NEWTOWN, Conn. – Fourteen members of the 2012 NCAA Champion Loyola University Maryland men’s lacrosse team took time from their holiday break today to travel to Newtown, Conn., to lead a lacrosse clinic for youth in the town that was forever changed last month by the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. This past Fall I spent a semester abroad at The Island School on Eleuthera, located in the Bahamas, for my Junior Year of High school. During my 4 month stay on Eleuthera I worked hand in hand with Deep Creek Middle School (a local middle school), volunteering and becoming a role model for younger students. While I was there I realized most of these kids were missing a very important aspect of childhood — sports. Read More…

Paul Rabil of Team USA, Boston Cannons, and Washington Stealth spoke with Boston youth lacrosse players. Rabil put on demonstrations for the kids then broke them up into groups to work on stick skills, shooting techniques, dodging drills, and dodging and shooting drills.
