Coast Guard Academy Lacrosse Teams Jump to D3 in 2015

NEW LONDON, Conn.--The U.S. Coast Guard Academy Division of Athletics announced today that it will elevate the men's and women's club lacrosse teams to varsity status, effective with the 2014-15 academic year. Coast Guard Academy Lacrosse to Conduct Goal Flag Ceremony

New London, Conn. – The Coast Guard Academy Men’s Lacrosse Team will conduct its traditional goal flag remembrance ceremony at Cadet Memorial Field prior to the first home game against the University of Rhode Island on Wednesday, 20 March at 6:00 PM. The ceremony is open to the public and serves to formally recognize the ultimate sacrifices made by Coast Guard Academy graduates. New London, CT – This spring, we sat down Cadet 1/c Tim Wyderko - one of three 2013 Team Captains selected at the United States Coast Guard Academy. Cadet 1/c Tim Wyderko is the anchor of the Bears defense and earned the rare honor of selection as a team captain as a junior and senior. Wyderko is a "do everything" defender – in 2012, he had 74 ground balls, six points and too many individual clearing efforts to count. Hardeeville, S.C. – The Coast Guard Academy Men’s Lacrosse team (2-0) finished off their 1,000 mile President’s Weekend road trip in style with another Top 25 out-of-conference win - 13-11 over #20 Kennesaw State University (0-4) in the third annual Ricky McAllaster Memorial Lacrosse Tournament. Cadet 1/c Steven Danseglio (Islip Terrace, N.Y./East Islip) scored on three great individual efforts and handed out two assists to finish with five points on the day and six other Bears registered at least a point.
