NCAA Rules Committee met earlier this month in Indianapolis to discuss possible adjustments to the college game that would enhance the pace of play. Proposals such as protocol referees will follow, changes to the stick specifications and substitutions made on the fly. But the most unconventional ones involved the face-off and restarts. The Merrimack College Men’s Lacrosse team reached the Northeast-10 Championship for the fourth straight season, finishing with a 13-3 overall record in 2012. (June 25. 2012) — Six home games and six road contests, including a visit to Virginia Tech, highlight the Delaware State University women’s lacrosse schedule for the team’s inaugural season in 2013. Obviously a team never wants their season to end on a loss, but when looking back…what a ride. At the end of last season, the senior class knew we’d have a talented squad to lead this year, and understood how strong leadership combined with a cohesive group make for a great team. It would be our job to do just that. With about a month left in summer, the news was announced that Coach Murphy was hired as our new coach. He made sure to call every player, and discuss the coming year. When talking to each senior, Coach Murphy made clear his main goal for his inaugural season: make it the senior’s best one yet.
