Sean Smith’s Game Winner Steals Showdown for Colorado State Lacrosse



Denver, CO – Trailing 10-6 with 6:18 remaining in the contest, the #4 Colorado State Rams staged an improbable comeback against the #9 Colorado Buffaloes, scoring four straight goals to tie the game and then winning it in the second overtime period in the annual Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Showdown at Sports Authority Field at Mile High Stadium. Third Quarter Run Propels No. 4 Colorado State Over Utah



Fort Collins, CO – The #4 Colorado State Rams stretched a 6-2 halftime advantage into a 9-2 lead just minutes into the third quarter and then held on to beat RMLC rival Utah 12-8 on an increasingly chilly afternoon at Colorado State University on Friday. Rams Dunk the Devils, 12-6



Tempe, AZ – The #1 Colorado State University men’s lacrosse team again started quickly and rode smothering defense the rest of the way in to move their record to 6-0 with a solid road victory over the #9 Arizona State Sun Devils on Saturday afternoon. CSU led 6-1 at one point before stumbling a bit down the stretch on their way to a 9-6 win. The Rams were great again on the defensive side of the ball and overcame some fourth quarter turnover problems to get the win. Sophomore Sean Smith (Amherst HS / Amherst, NY) was outstanding, pitching in with six assists on the afternoon while junior Austin Fisher (Rock Canyon HS / Highlands Ranch, CO) led the team with four goals. Colorado State Lacrosse Demolishes Colorado College

Colorado Springs, CO – Colorado State, the newly minted #1 team in the MCLA, travelled two hours south on Saturday to take on long-time rival and NCAA Division III Colorado College on Saturday afternoon at Washburn Field in Colorado Springs. The Rams wasted little time putting their mark on the game, scoring a goal on their opening possession and then banging home five more in the first period alone to take an insurmountable lead and cruise to a comfortable 12-4 victory. Colorado Adds Women’s Lacrosse

BOULDER – For the first time in 16 years, the University of Colorado is adding a new sport – and from all indications, the fit will be as natural for Boulder as the Flatirons. Women’s lacrosse is joining CU’s athletic lineup, with competition scheduled to begin in the spring of 2014. The addition of women’s lacrosse will push CU’s number of sports to 17, a figure that includes women’s competition in basketball, volleyball, soccer, tennis, golf, skiing, cross country and track and field.
