2013 Boston University Lacrosse Player Blog: Pray for Boston

By Lacrosse Playground | April 18, 2013 |
What a week it has been in Boston. It is hard to begin with a fun, lighthearted recap of our incredible senior game after such terrible, senseless acts that have just taken place at the Boston marathon. NBC Sports Network (@NBCSN) tweeted one of the best interpretations of fearless acts- “Reports of Marathon Runners that crossed finish line and continued to run to Mass General Hosptial to give blood to victims #prayforboston.” Read More...

2013 Boston University Lacrosse Blog: Pretty in Pink

By Lacrosse Playground | April 11, 2013 |
Hey bloggers! It’s been about a week since our last post and we have 3 games to catch up on. When we last talked we had Harvard next on the docket. Our cross-river rival spanked us two years ago, and although last year we showed a little improvement with an 11-9 loss, we had some redeeming to do. This year our game was the Friday before Easter, under-the-lights, and also our Breast Cancer Awareness game. Read More...

2013 Boston University Lacrosse Player Blog: Luck of the Irish

By Lacrosse Playground | April 1, 2013 |
Wow, it’s been a while. When we last left off, I was on the plane ride home from Denver, which at this point seems like an eternity ago. When we first got home all the dorms were locked because BU was still technically on Spring Break; luckily, my building stays open during breaks and holidays so I could go home to my own bed. Our freshmen were not so lucky and four of them came home with me to our suite. Read More...

Hey there! We’re on the plane ride home from Denver and after a week-long spring break we certainly have a lot to catch up on. To say this trip has been an emotional rollercoaster is putting it mildly, between two tough games, amazing team bonding, and some crazy adventures we’ve experienced the highs and lows of collegiate athletics all jammed into one week. 2013 Boston University Lacrosse Player Blog: Hypothermia

By Lacrosse Playground | March 4, 2013 |
You know, when will I straighten my hair, what will my game day sneakers be, pregame meals, pump up speeches, buddy cards, and the list goes on. Every team has their rituals, superstitions, game day routines and here at BU we’re no different. One of our big ones is before every home game one of the classes decorates the locker room. It’s pretty cool to see what everyone comes up with. It also happens to work out that our rivalries get the most attention. Read More...

Boston University Women’s Lacrosse 2013 Player Blog: Use Your Noodle

By Lacrosse Playground | February 20, 2013 |
So last week when I was complaining about the long two weeks we had before our first game, I take it back! We have officially entered crunch time and have exactly one week until our first game. What really boggles my mind is that so many other teams have already started. They have to be crazy…especially the New England schools. What if it snows? What if another Nemo attacks?! Seriously now. We’ve had the same season opener for the past 6 years and I’m not saying we’re perfect but what’s the rush? Read More...

Boston University Women’s Lacrosse 2013 Player Blog: Why Are We Naming Blizzards Now

By Lacrosse Playground | February 12, 2013 |
For those of you that haven’t seen the news, twitter, facebook, instagram or basically live under a rock, the east coast was slammed with Nemo, the blizzard. Can we first discuss why we are naming blizzards now? I’d love to meet the man or woman who has the job of choosing the names. This past weekend we planned to head down to University of Pennsylvania for a preseason tournament Friday night, play Saturday and return after the games. Read More...

Boston University Women’s Lacrosse Team Finds ‘The Zone’

By Lacrosse Playground | May 15, 2012 |
Earlier this year, we posted a promo for the documentary called The Zone, which is produced by Lee Feiner. The Zone focuses on that mindset before a major performance and really investigates this feeling that we feel when the lights go on and we're ready to go. This morning I received an e-mail from Lee Feiner with the finished documentary. Enjoy! Read More...
