Derek Maltz Has Big Day At Syracuse Lacrosse Alumni Game

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – For the third straight year, the Syracuse varsity lacrosse team defeated a star-studded group of past SU greats in the Orange Alumni Classic. The event featured four-time All-American Mike Leveille and NCAA career wins leader John Galloway, but it was junior Derek Maltz (Ashburn, Va.) who stole the show. Derek Maltz Shines for Syracuse Men’s Lacrosse Against Hobart, 13-12

GENEVA, N.Y. – Sophomore Derek Maltz (Ashburn, Va.) became the first Orange player since 2008 to score six goals in a game, and No. 15 Syracuse (7-5) survived a second-half Hobart scare to defeat the Statesmen (3-8), 13-12, on Tuesday, April 17 at Boswell Field and secure the Kraus-Simmons Trophy for the sixth straight season.
