ANN ARBBOR, Mich. (4/18/2013) — With the weather still unpredictable for today, the Detroit-Michigan men’s lacrosse game at Michigan Stadium that was suspended yesterday was officially cancelled this morning. Detroit led 4-3 with 6:32 left in the second period when the second lightning delay of the game sent the teams to the locker room. With the storm never letting up, the call was made to suspend the game with the hopes of resuming it in the future, but it will now go down as cancelled. Read More…

DETROIT (4/16/2013) — The second edition of the battle between the only two Division I programs in the Great Lakes State will resume on Wednesday as the Detroit Titans head to Ann Arbor to face the Michigan Wolverines under the lights at Michigan Stadium. CHICAGO — The Detroit men’s lacrosse team split a pair of scrimmages on Saturday in the Windy City as the Titans, Bellarmine and Notre Dame got together for the Playing for Peace Catholic Lacrosse Showcase, held at Hales Franciscan High School. UDM defeated Bellarmine 11-9 in its first game and fell to Notre Dame 15-7 in its second contest of the event. Read More…

DETROIT — Sophomore Joel Matthews (St. Catharines, ON/Holy Cross) scored just one goal on the day, but it made all the difference as Detroit won 8-7 in overtime on Saturday against Marist. Keenan won 16 of 18 face-offs, helping sixth-ranked North Carolina dominate possession en route to an 18-8 men’s lacrosse victory over Detroit in the Tar Heels’ home opener at Fetzer Field Saturday. Jimmy Dunster scored three goals for Coach Joe Breschi’s team and Marcus Holman and Chad Tutton each had four-point games for Carolina, which got points from 13 different players. Read More…
