2010 NYC Marathon x Lead the Way Fund in Memory of Jimmy Regan, Duke ’02



Matt Breuer is running this year’s NYC Marathon on November 7th. He is running the marathon as part of a team to raise money for the Lead the Way Fund, an organization founded to honor the memory of Sgt. James “Jimmy” Regan by supporting the families of US Army Rangers. Jimmy played lacrosse at Duke. From everything we’ve heard and read about Jimmy, it is hard to imagine a better teammate or friend. The President Honors NCAA Student Athletes



The President continues a tradition started by President George W. Bush by honoring championship teams and student athletes from across the NCAA with a reception at the White House. Various championship teams and players are recognized for their efforts to give back to their communities, continuing an effort begun by President Obama of sports champions being commended for service as part of a White House visit. Obama mentions lax around the 1:50 mark.

Former Duke Lacrosse Player Running for Congress



Former Vice President Dan Quayle’s son, Ben, just won the Republican nomination in Arizona’s 3rd Congressional district. He is also a former lacrosse player (Note: once a laxer…always a laxer). Crotty Named MLL Rookie of The Year



Boston, Mass. (August 10, 2010) –Major League Lacrosse (MLL), the premier professional outdoor lacrosse league, announced Tuesday that Chicago Machine attack Ned Crotty has been selected as the 2010 Cascade Major League Lacrosse Rookie of the Year, according to MLL Commissioner David Gross.
