Both the men’s and women’s sections of Team England went undefeated through the tournament to eclipse their soccer compatriots and both take their respective European crowns. The women’s team finished off and impressive tournament performance by beating 2008 champions Wales in the final. England's 40 man training squad were put through a series of tests to establish their individual athletic ability. The tests were conducted in partnership with Salford University sports science department.
