Fairfield Men’s Lacrosse Player Blog: Hockey Style!

By Lacrosse Playground | April 20, 2012 |
So the past two weeks have been pretty eventful for the Fairfield Lax team. Two weeks ago we had the game, well the game I still must admit I think about every day, versus Loyola. We had the now #1 team in the country on their heels with a 6-4 lead on with eight minutes left. You have to give it to them they battled back, and won by two. Read More...

Fairfield Men’s Lacrosse Player Blog: #SullySmith Can Speak French in Russian

So, I was kind of MIA last week with my blog and sorry about that, but wasn't really in the blogging mood after a loss. So yeah, we lost our first game of the year vs. Colgate two weeks ago, and a loss is never good but it's something we kind of needed. It got us refocused on the little things we lost sight of and got us that much more motivated for the rest of the year. And wouldn't you know it we came out firing this past Saturday vs. Hobart in our first conference game of the year. Read More...

HAMILTON, N.Y. Fairfield Men’s Lacrosse Player Blog: Life’s a Beach

By Lacrosse Playground | March 16, 2012 |
So it's spring break for us here at Fairfield and while everyone's away enjoying their trips to Punta Cana, Florida or wherever, we get to stay here (life of a college laxer). Lucky us we even got to see some snow up in Vermont this past sunday, but hey at least we came out with a win. The good thing about Fairfield is that we live on a beach and the temperature's been in the 70's and sunny so no complaints. Read More...

Back at it again and another overtime win. 1 was understandable, 2 was enough, 3 … well there's no need for that. I felt like we had the chance to run away with that game, but UMBC kept battling so props to them. The good thing is we’re winning these one goal games after last season where we lost five games by a goal. It's still early in the season and we still have a lot to work on, but it’s a great feeling being 4-0 and getting some respect by being ranked in the top 20. Read More...

Fairfield Men’s Lacrosse Player Blog, Hofstra…INTENSE

By Lacrosse Playground | March 1, 2012 |
A good amount of the guys on the team are from Long Island (including myself) so it was definitely one we had circled on the schedule. We started off hot, but Hofstra kept coming and before you knew it, it was 9-9 at the end of regulation. OT felt like forever (#goalieproblems) with both teams getting chances, especially after I threw away a pass right to one of their attackmen. If they came down and scored on that I might have hung up the jock strap and retired on the spot. Read More...
