US Lacrosse Issues Statement on Florida’s Latest Mandate for Girls’ Lacrosse



BALTIMORE, Sept. 29, 2014 — US Lacrosse, the national governing body for men’s and women’s lacrosse, today issued the following statement in response to the mandates approved by the Florida High School Athletic Association’s Board of Directors. Hammerheads Travel Teams Join Broward Barracudas



The Broward Barracudas and the Ft. Lauderdale Hammerheads travel programs have agreed to join forces beginning with the upcoming travel season. Hammerheads founder and director, Jan Northrop, will join Pete Dunne and Shaun Bamforth as co-directors of the travel program. Brian Cost, former St. Andrews Assistant Coach and new Assistant Coach at University School, is also joining the Barracudas program and will serve as Director of Coaching. IMG Academy lacrosse announces first wave of enrollees for 2014-15

BRADENTON, Fla. (June 17, 2014) – Following a high-scoring inaugural season, the IMG Academy lacrosse program continued to raise the bar in year two. The program’s teams combined for a 16-4 overall record, competing against the likes of Don Bosco (N.J.), Lawrenceville (N.J.), Haverford School (Pa.), Episcopal of Dallas (Texas) and Army (N.Y.) and Navy Prep (R.I.). The team will be named the Florida Launch and will be coached by former Denver Outlaws assistant Stan Ross. It will play in Palm Beach County, a location where MLL has enjoyed recent success. Fort Lauderdale, FL – The 25th annual Bump & Grind Lacrosse Tournament was held this past weekend January 25-27 in beautiful South Florida. Mills Pond Park in Fort Lauderdale hosted 9 Men’s Elite teams and 4 Men’s Master’s teams from across the county.
