Cassese and Nadelen to Coach South Team at USILA North-South Game



BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh head coach Kevin Cassese will team up with Towson’s Shawn Nadelen as co-head coaches for the South Team at the annual North-South Senior All-Star Game next Friday (May 25) at Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass. HAMILTON, N.Y. – The eighth-ranked and second-seeded Lehigh men’s lacrosse team put together one of its strongest offensive outbursts of the season, tying a season-high 16 goals to beat the #10 Colgate Raiders, 16-14 and win its first-ever Patriot League Tournament Championship on Sunday. The Mountain Hawks (14-2) jumped out to a 5-0 lead then held off a Raiders’ (12-3) charge to earn the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Lehigh Men’s Lacrosse’s Win At Lafayette Ties Wins Record

EASTON, Pa. – The #12/10 Lehigh men’s lacrosse team dominated from the opening whistle and wouldn’t look back as the Mountain Hawks (12-2, 5-1 Patriot League) downed Lafayette, 16-6, in their regular season finale Saturday. With the victory, Lehigh enters next weekend’s Patriot League Tournament winners of 11 of their last 12 games. BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Junior Dante Fantoni rifled a shot past Kyle Feeney with just 14 seconds remaining to give the #11 Lehigh men’s lacrosse team a thrilling 9-8 win over #18 Bucknell in front of a facility-record 2,096 fans on Saturday night. The Mountain Hawks (11-2, 4-1 Patriot League) continually fought back from deficits until Fantoni’s goal put Lehigh up for good. BALTIMORE – US Lacrosse has named Kevin Cassese, Dave Pietramala and Jeff Tambroni assistant coaches for the 2014 U.S. men’s national team. Cassese, Pietramala and Tambroni join the coaching staff led by head coach Richie Meade that will lead the U.S. men’s national team at the 2014 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Championships, hosted by US Lacrosse and set for July 10-19, 2014, in Denver, Colo. The U.S. men’s national team is seeking its 10th world championship after reclaiming the gold medal at the 2010 FIL World Championships in Manchester, England. Read More…

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Following a preseason scrimmage against each other Saturday, head coaches Kevin Cassese of Lehigh and Brian Dougherty of Chestnut Hill will be joining forces Sunday when the two friends coach the U.S. National Team in the Champion Challenge. After the Mountain Hawks and Griffins squared off, the two hopped in a car for the Philadelphia airport.
