Lehigh Lacrosse to be Honored this Saturday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The 2012 Lehigh men’s lacrosse team will be honored in a special halftime ceremony at Saturday’s football game vs. Fordham. Kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m. in Goodman Stadium. Lehigh Men’s Lacrosse Announces Fall Schedule

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Smith Family Head Lacrosse Coach Kevin Cassese announced the team’s action-packed 2012 fall schedule on Wednesday, which includes Alumni Weekend, the Nick Colleluori Classic and the San Francisco Fall Classic. Lehigh’s fall will be an active one, including the Sixth Annual Nick Colleluori Lacrosse Classic when the squad will face Hofstra and Robert Morris, along with the San Francisco Fall Classic vs. Ohio State. Kevin Cassese to Coach in ‘Duel in Denver’ this Saturday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh head men’s lacrosse coach Kevin Cassese will man the sidelines in Denver this Saturday, Sept. 8, when the U.S. National Team faces Canada in the “Duel in Denver.” It will mark the first time the current U.S. staff will coach together as they begin preparation for the 2014 FIL World Championships. HAMILTON, N.Y. - The eighth-ranked and second-seeded Lehigh men’s lacrosse team put together one of its strongest offensive outbursts of the season, tying a season-high 16 goals to beat the #10 Colgate Raiders, 16-14 and win its first-ever Patriot League Tournament Championship on Sunday. The Mountain Hawks (14-2) jumped out to a 5-0 lead then held off a Raiders’ (12-3) charge to earn the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. EASTON, Pa. - The #12/10 Lehigh men’s lacrosse team dominated from the opening whistle and wouldn’t look back as the Mountain Hawks (12-2, 5-1 Patriot League) downed Lafayette, 16-6, in their regular season finale Saturday. With the victory, Lehigh enters next weekend’s Patriot League Tournament winners of 11 of their last 12 games. BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Junior Dante Fantoni rifled a shot past Kyle Feeney with just 14 seconds remaining to give the #11 Lehigh men’s lacrosse team a thrilling 9-8 win over #18 Bucknell in front of a facility-record 2,096 fans on Saturday night. BALTIMORE – US Lacrosse has named Kevin Cassese, Dave Pietramala and Jeff Tambroni assistant coaches for the 2014 U.S. men's national team. Cassese, Pietramala and Tambroni join the coaching staff led by head coach Richie Meade that will lead the U.S. men's national team at the 2014 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Championships, hosted by US Lacrosse and set for July 10-19, 2014, in Denver, Colo.
