Lehigh Men’s Lacrosse 2012 Player Blog: The Time Has Come

By Lacrosse Playground | April 27, 2012 |
At the end of the day, success breeds complacency but complacency has never bred success. For the Lehigh Mountain Hawks, tomorrow night’s game is the only one that means anything in the grand scheme of things. The time has come to make this season truly significant for the legacy of our program. The time has come to earn the rings we’ve been chasing all along. Read More...

Fairfield Men’s Lacrosse Player Blog: Cheers Mates #WeWantTheCup

By Lacrosse Playground | April 26, 2012 |
Question: has anyone ever friend requested someone in their class who is sitting 3 seats in front of you, and who you see is currently on facebook, just to see if she'll accept it? Haha. Back to reality we have a big week and a half of lacrosse a head of us. Read More...

Colgate Men’s Lacrosse 2012 Player Blog: Who Needs Avicii When We Get to See Baumvicii

By Lacrosse Playground | April 25, 2012 |
Going into the fourth quarter it was tied 6-6. Coach’s message to us in the huddle was, “win this minute, then the next one, and the one after that until there are zeros on the clock!” Because of Rob Grabher’s performance at the X during the second and third quarters, Bucknell came out with three poles on the face-offs and it turned into a hard-fought battle each time. Texas Men’s Lacrosse Player Blog: Ndamukong Suh

By Lacrosse Playground | April 24, 2012 |
We stopped by Niketown to get geared up, casually ran into Ndamukong Suh at the employee store, and dropped bills at none other than the Columbia store. Some kids on the team have an affinity for fishing gear… or they aspire to be the next Bear Grylls. We got some weird people. They outfitted themselves in camping stuff. Read More...

Fairfield Men’s Lacrosse Player Blog: Hockey Style!

By Lacrosse Playground | April 20, 2012 |
So the past two weeks have been pretty eventful for the Fairfield Lax team. Two weeks ago we had the game, well the game I still must admit I think about every day, versus Loyola. We had the now #1 team in the country on their heels with a 6-4 lead on with eight minutes left. You have to give it to them they battled back, and won by two. Read More...

Colgate Men’s Lacrosse 2012 Player Blog: Lunch Has Been Cancelled Today Due to Lack of Hustle

By Lacrosse Playground | April 17, 2012 |
After coming off a big Lehigh win, we couldn’t let ourselves get complacent for Lafayette. Coach reminded us consistently throughout the week how he doesn’t care about their record, but about the fact that if we win this game, we’re in the Patriot League Tournament. Read More...

Lehigh Men’s Lacrosse 2012 Player Blog: Beat Bucknell

By Lacrosse Playground | April 13, 2012 |
It’s been a while since I had to write about a loss in this blog. I guess I should consider that a positive thing, but I’d be lying to myself if I thought it was that easy to find personal closure in the face of defeat. Going forward, the only attainable closure in this type of situation can be found through hard work: by working harder in practice than you did in the previous week. Read More...

Morgan State Men’s Lacrosse Player Blog: Way More Than a Game

By Lacrosse Playground | March 30, 2012 |
The first year I played at Morgan I had no idea who we had on our schedule, but a large part of the team was upset that we weren’t playing Howard. I didn’t understand at first until it got through my head what a big deal it is to lax at an HBCU. I didn’t know any specifics other than the fact that they usually played Howard but this year we weren’t. Read More...

Detroit Mercy Men’s Lacrosse 2012 Player Blog: We Have No Plans of Stopping

By Lacrosse Playground | March 29, 2012 |
It has been an exciting last three weeks. It began with the win over Quinnipiac, which propelled us into the first game of conference play at Canisius. The one aspect of NCAA athletics that has stood out to me the most is momentum, which happens to currently be on our side and unless the world ends tomorrow, I don’t see it leaving the Detroit Titans. Colgate Men’s Lacrosse 2012 Player Blog: “Call Me Maybe” Flu Hits the Team

By Lacrosse Playground | March 27, 2012 |
Legacy is a word that has been repeated a lot to us this season by Coach Murphy, mainly to the senior class. He has asked us on multiple occasions, “Seniors, what kind of legacy do you want to leave behind?” Coming off a strong Fairfield win, Navy would be a game that would add to that legacy. We just didn’t know in what way at the time. Read More...

Fairfield Men’s Lacrosse Player Blog: Life’s a Beach

By Lacrosse Playground | March 16, 2012 |
So it's spring break for us here at Fairfield and while everyone's away enjoying their trips to Punta Cana, Florida or wherever, we get to stay here (life of a college laxer). Lucky us we even got to see some snow up in Vermont this past sunday, but hey at least we came out with a win. The good thing about Fairfield is that we live on a beach and the temperature's been in the 70's and sunny so no complaints. Read More...

Lehigh Men’s Lacrosse 2012 Player Blog: Hype Train Through Bethlehem

By Lacrosse Playground | March 16, 2012 |
It’s week 7 now, and the hype train continues to run through Bethlehem. With our team coming off a monumental spring break trip, the Yale game on Sunday was an opportunity to keep the momentum going. On the other hand, though, it had the potential to completely derail the buzz surrounding our program with a loss, an outcome a lot of people probably expected for us. Read More...
