The Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy opened in fall 2011. Trustee Dr. Lew Blackburn recommended the school be named for the President. The creation of an all-boys school is something that some trustees, including Dr. Blackburn, had talked about since the district began an all-girls campus in 2004. LOS ANGELES – UCLA Men’s Lacrosse (4-4) defeated visiting North Texas (3-6) by a score of 16-5 on a foggy Friday night in Westwood. After the Mean Green started off the game’s scoring, the Bruins were able to ride a 6-0 run to a five goal halftime lead. UCLA increased its lead by scoring five goals each in the third and fourth quarters while only allowing two goals in each quarter from North Texas. Read More…
