The Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy opened in fall 2011. Trustee Dr. Lew Blackburn recommended the school be named for the President. The creation of an all-boys school is something that some trustees, including Dr. Blackburn, had talked about since the district began an all-girls campus in 2004. Australian Men’s National Lacrosse Team Signs Deal with Maverik/Cascade Lacrosse

NEW YORK — March 26, 2013 — Maverik Lacrosse and Cascade Lacrosse are proud to announce its partnership with the Australian Men’s National Lacrosse Team for the 2014 World Championship in Denver. Australia will be receiving custom designed Maverik equipment while Cascade will be outfitting the team with custom helmets. LOS ANGELES – UCLA Men’s Lacrosse (4-4) defeated visiting North Texas (3-6) by a score of 16-5 on a foggy Friday night in Westwood. After the Mean Green started off the game’s scoring, the Bruins were able to ride a 6-0 run to a five goal halftime lead. SU Lacrosse Welcomes Rival Johns Hopkins To The Dome Saturday



SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The two most storied programs in college lacrosse meet for the 51st time at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 16 when No. 11 Syracuse hosts No. 4 Johns Hopkins at the Carrier Dome. The Orange and Blue Jays are the two winningest programs in Division I lacrosse history and they have met at least once every season dating back to 1983.
