Last Thursday was a huge day for a couple of reasons: Villanova was looming and it was Valentine’s Day. Let’s start with Valentine’s Day. There were a couple highlights for the Lehigh lacrosse team, as Kyle Stiefel set the record for most social media posts in a day regarding his girlfriend. Alan Henderson was Valentineless on Thursday, but he made up for that with his performance with the ladies on Saturday. Fortunately for myself, Alex, my high school sweetheart, was my valentine. All my buddies call her “the one that got away,” but I am working hard to make sure that is not the case. Read More…

Senior CLASS Award Candidates Announced


BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men’s lacrosse senior Ryan Snyder has been named a candidate for the prestigious Senior CLASS Award, as announced on Wednesday. One of only 20 candidates in the nation and three in the Patriot League, the award recognizes student-athletes with notable achievements in four areas – community, classroom, character and competition. Complacency. That was the key word and theme of practice this past week as our team found itself struggling only a few sleeps before the opening tilt of our 2013 campaign. The excitement of game #1 got the better of us, and as a result, our focus during last Thursday’s practice was less than acceptable. The lack of focus really came to light while we were struggling with our clearing drill. Coach Cassese was having none of it, and put us on the end line and ordered us to regroup. Read More…

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men’s lacrosse team opened a highly-anticipated 2013 season in a big way, downing visiting Saint Joseph’s 14-1 on a sunny Sunday afternoon at the Ulrich Sports Complex. Senior David DiMaria led the way with a career-high six goals while classmate Dante Fantoni tied a career high with three assists and five points. As all of the boys voyaged back to Lehigh on Friday, January 11th, there was only one goal on our minds: win the 2013 National Championship. Looking back at a stellar 2012 campaign, we accomplished many firsts in school history. It was an unbelievable opportunity to be a part of that Mountain Hawks team, as the flywheel got rolling like I could have never imagined. Lehigh Lacrosse’ Sixth Annual Community Night a Success (Video)

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men’s lacrosse team hosted its sixth annual Community Night on Friday, which saw nearly 100 youngsters come out and learn from the defending Patriot League Champion Mountain Hawks. The one-hour clinic has continued to grow, beginning with only 15 attendees six years ago to where it is today, as one of the most highly-anticipated fall events for both the Mountain Hawks and the Lehigh Valley community. Lehigh Men’s Lacrosse Releases 2013 Schedule



BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Smith Family Head Lacrosse Coach Kevin Cassese announced the Mountain Hawks’ 2013 schedule on Thursday, which features four teams who finished in the top 15 of last season’s final Nike/Inside Lacrosse Media Poll. Lehigh will play 14 regular season games, seven at home, five on the road and two at neutral sites, as the Mountain Hawks will face Denver, UMass and Colgate who all advanced to the 2012 NCAA Tournament. BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The 2012 Lehigh men’s lacrosse team will be honored in a special halftime ceremony at Saturday’s football game vs. Fordham. Kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m. in Goodman Stadium.
