ANN ARBBOR, Mich. (4/18/2013) — With the weather still unpredictable for today, the Detroit-Michigan men’s lacrosse game at Michigan Stadium that was suspended yesterday was officially cancelled this morning. Detroit led 4-3 with 6:32 left in the second period when the second lightning delay of the game sent the teams to the locker room. With the storm never letting up, the call was made to suspend the game with the hopes of resuming it in the future, but it will now go down as cancelled. Read More…

DETROIT (4/16/2013) — The second edition of the battle between the only two Division I programs in the Great Lakes State will resume on Wednesday as the Detroit Titans head to Ann Arbor to face the Michigan Wolverines under the lights at Michigan Stadium. MIAMI, Fla. – Senior attackman Garrett Thul led all players with seven goals en route to breaking Army’s all-time goals record in a 12-1 win over Michigan on Saturday night. Playing in the marquee game of the second Orange Bowl Lacrosse Classic at Sun Life Stadium, Thul’s effort brought his career total to 141 career goals and broke Scott Finlay’s mark, which was set from 1975-78. ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Led by four-goal performances from TJ Sanders (Orillia, Ont.) and Shane Sturgis (Downingtown, Pa.), No. 15 Penn State men’s lacrosse defeated Michigan, 11-6, at Oosterbaan Fieldhouse. ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Mike Sawyer had career-high seven points, scoring five goals along with two assists as the Loyola University Maryland men’s lacrosse team took down future ECAC foe Michigan, 15-8, on Wednesday night at Oosterbaan Field House in Ann Arbor, Mich. Sawyer helped the Greyhounds (4-0, 1-0 ECAC) become the first Loyola team since 2001 to score 10 or more goals in four-straight games, while also giving the team its first 4-0 start since 2002. DENVER – Junior Eric Law (Centennial, Colo.) led the University of Denver men’s lacrosse team with four goals and one assist as the Pioneers (1-1) claimed a 17-5 victory over Michigan (0-3) in the second game of the 12th Annual DU Face-Off Classic in front of a sell-out crowd of 2,191 at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium on Saturday.The win marks the 300th victory for head coach Bill Tierney, who becomes the fifth head coach to win 300 wins. DETROIT — Three games against teams that made the NCAA Tournament a year ago and a home game against the Michigan Wolverines are on the docket as the Titan men’s lacrosse schedule was announced today. Overall, Detroit will have five home games, including visits from MAAC Champion Siena in a rematch from last year’s conference tournament championship, and Marist – who the Titans defeated in the semifinals.
