Being from Michigan I guess I am biased to my own state, but with that said, I must say that it definitely isn’t easy for any program to get started from the ground up in any area that already has powerhouse teams. Well, that’s just what Nick Zoroya, the head coach at Skyline High School in Ann Arbor, Michigan took on when he became the coach at the new high school.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — University of Michigan director of athletics Dave Brandon announced today (Wednesday, May 25) the elevation of men’s and women’s lacrosse to varsity status. The men’s program will begin NCAA Division I varsity competition in the 2011-12 academic year, and the women’s program will be ready for NCAA Division I varsity competition in the 2012-13 academic year. Tim Sullivan has created a new website that entirely covers nothing but lacrosse from that state of Michigan.

A few days in the life of the Michigan Lacrosse team; including, but not limited to, an alumni scrimmage on a perfect Ann Arbor Sunday, a defenseman’s dream coming true, and the first night of the winterlong Wednesday night 3-on-3 tournament. NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Fighting Irish men’s lacrosse team will be honored on the Notre Dame Stadium field during Saturday’s Notre Dame-Michigan football game.
