ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Senior attackman Taylor Reynolds (Babylon, N.Y.) and senior faceoff specialist Logan West (Berlin, Md.) have been selected by their peers to serve as co-captains for the 2011-2012 Navy men's lacrosse season. It's just the 12th time in the 105 years of storied lacrosse history at the Naval Academy in which there have been co-captains and the first since the 2006 campaign, when Jon Birsner and Matt Russell shared duties. 2011 Navy Lacrosse Season Highlights Plus Jack Emmer's Reactions

This video was shown to the team at the end of the season banquet. The reel includes highlights from the 2011 season with a picture slideshow at the end. The Midshipmen had a tough year finishing 4-9. Head Coach Richie Meade also retired at season's close to top it off. Meade was a tremendous leader at Navy and will stick around to do so. Looney Funeral, Flag Flown at Half Staff

Governor Martin O’Malley has ordered the United States Flag and Maryland State Flag flown at half staff on Monday, October 4, 2010 from sunrise to sunset. This is in memory of Lt. (SEAL) Brendan J. Looney, former Navy lacrosse player, who died on September21, 2010 during combat operations in the Zabul province, Afghanistan, while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

Video: Former Navy Lacrosse Player Dies in Helicopter Crash

Brendan Looney, a former Navy lacrosse player who lived in Silver Spring, was among nine U.S. military personnel killed in a Blackhawk helicopter crash Tuesday in southern Afghanistan. The cause was believed to be accidental. Looney a 1999 graduate of DeMatha Catholic High played football and baseball before matriculating to the Naval Academy. Keep Reading...
