2011 Navy Lacrosse Season Highlights Plus Jack Emmer's Reactions

This video was shown to the team at the end of the season banquet. The reel includes highlights from the 2011 season with a picture slideshow at the end. The Midshipmen had a tough year finishing 4-9. Head Coach Richie Meade also retired at season's close to top it off. Meade was a tremendous leader at Navy and will stick around to do so. Fallen Heroes Lacrosse Classic Tonight at Navy

Tonight will mark the inaugural Fallen Heroes Lacrosse Classic featuring between DeMatha (Md) and LaSalle (Pa). The two teams are meeting for the first time to honor LT Brendan Looney, USN (DeMatha) and 1st LT Travis Manion, USMC (LaSalle) who gave their lives serving in our Armed Forces. Both graduates of the United States Naval Academy, Looney and Manion were outstanding athletes in lacrosse and wrestling, respectively, best friends, and most importantly outstanding role models for everyone who knew them. Videos: Brothers In Arms Buried Together

Monday night, the nightly news for CBS and NBC paid tribute to true American heroes. Travis Manion and former Navy lacrosse standout Brendan Looney were roommates at the naval academy and became as close as brothers. One became a Marine stationed in Iraq, the other, a Navy Seal in Afghanistan. Both have died and were laid to rest side-by-side in Arlington's National Cemetery. View Videos...

Rhodes Scholar Myron Rolle Trains With Navy Lacrosse Alumni

ESPN has been keeping up with Myron Rolle for quite a bit. You know who he is right? Former All-Everything at Florida State and current Rhodes Scholar. He gave up his Senior year at FSU to study abroad and mingle with other members of academia from around the globe. ESPN's, Outside the Lines, has said that he, "is expected to be all things to all people." More after the jump.

Flag presentation in Madison From Former Naval Academy Star (Video)

Former All-American goalie and now currently serving in the Marines, Lt. Matthew Russell, presented the town of Madison with a flag which he flew over his base in Iraq this past 4th of July. Russell, a local lacrosse star, arranged to have an American Flag flown over the Phoenix Base in Iraq on behalf of Madison Youth Lacrosse. "It's a very generous town for sure, a lot of people who didn't even know what lacrosse is sure know what lacrosse is," said Russell.

America's Heroes, Veterans Day

The Armistice that ended World War I was signed 91 years ago today, on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. Today, we honor the 25 million veterans in the United States today, the countless who have given the ultimate sacrifice in the pursuit of freedom and the 400,000 who are deployed overseas. There are a lot of numbers being thrown around but the most important number today is one. Silverfin Likes To Keep It Simple

Founded by Patrick Smith and Brad Conners and located in Southern California, Silverfin, which focuses on lacrosse training and equipment, has been going strong for four years. Patrick played both club and varsity at Navy ('94-'98) and was stationed overseas upon graduation. Upon returning from Spain he noticed that lacrosse equipment had changed a bit.
