NCLL Remembers Joe Cieslak Sr.



Baltimore, MD- The Southern Lacrosse Officials Association community suffered a tough loss this past weekend when veteran official Joe Cieslak Sr., tragically died during the National College Lacrosse League Maryland-Johns Hopkins game. Cieslak was serving as lead referee for the traditional rivalry contest when he was stricken with about 15 seconds remaining in the third quarter. Spencer Ford, who was serving as umpire for the crew, said a wind chill factor dropped temperatures dramatically as the afternoon wore on at Homewood Field. Read More…

The Old Dominion University men’s team entered the NCLL back in 2009 lead by Michael Dailey and Scott Scheetz. Mike was recently in remission from a previously being diagnosed, where he had radical right side neck resection, removal of his right ear canal, plus a part of his skull. Mike had lost total hearing in his right ear. He fought on that season but as a coach, losing a lot of weight but still putting in a great effort. Read More…

University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown Looking To Stand Out This Year

The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown lacrosse club is heading into their sixth year. Playing in the NCLL Keystone conference the Laxcats are looking to make a name for themselves. They are having longer and more strenuous practices taking it more serious than previous years. They hope to get more recognition from their 3,100 student body and feel that standing out with new shooters and shorts will do the trick. Read More…

I got this in my inbox earlier and have been so caught up with the Holidaze and seeing old friends that I forgot to get this up.
