Whispers have been floating around for awhile now, but it appears likely that Nike Inc. will acquire Under Armour Inc. According to the London Times, Nike has been considering a takeover bid to for several months. Posing significant financial advantage to Nike’s already impressive subsidiary umbrella, a deal could also mean substantial expansion to Under Armour’s relatively small international business. As we mentioned last month the popular turf shoes from the 90s are back. The Nike Air Diamond turf shoe features a lightweight synthetic leather and mesh upper with a Phylon midsole and encapsulated Air-Sole unit for cushioning and shock absorption. Rubber outsole provides great traction. It is available at limited retailers, mostly in Europe. Stay tuned for more info.
