COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The No. 1 University of Maryland men’s lacrosse team scored six of the final eight goals, but couldn’t complete the comeback in a 10-8 loss to No. 14 North Carolina in front of 3,053 at Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Holman & Wood Lead UNC Lacrosse Past Dartmouth

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Marcus Holman and Thomas Wood combined for 11 points Wednesday afternoon tolead the 15th-ranked North Carolina men’s lacrosse team to a 13-10 victory over Dartmouth before 1,116 fans at Fetzer Field. Elon Adds Division 1 Women’s Lacrosse

Elon, NC – Elon University’s Board of Trustees has approved the addition of women’s lacrosse as a varsity sport with competition to begin in the 2013-14 academic year. The women’s lacrosse program will be the 17th varsity sport and 10th women’s athletic program at Elon. A national search will begin immediately to identify a head coach, and the 2012-13 season will be utilized for recruiting, scheduling and player development. The average women’s lacrosse roster is made up of 28 individuals. Read More…

Game Photos: Rastivo’s MVP Performance Ignites Tar Heels Past Princeton, 9-8


BALTIMORE, MD. — Steven Rastivo made 16 saves to earn Most Valuable Player honors of the 2012 Konica Minolta Face-off Classic as eighth-ranked North Carolina defeated 14th-ranked Princeton 9-8 at M&T Bank Stadium. Princeton outshot the Tar Heels 43-22 in the game but Rastivo proved to be a stone wall in the cage to keep the Tigers at bay, including a seven-save performance in the fourth quarter alone. CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Lehigh men’s lacrosse team scored four of the first five second-half goals to break a 5-5 tie, on the way to one of its biggest wins in school history as the Mountain Hawks downed the #4 North Carolina Tar Heels, 9-8 on Saturday evening.
