With less than four weeks till their opening game against China at the 2014 World Lacrosse Championships in Denver, CO. The Netherlands has released its roster. Helmed by head coach Neal Powless (Nazareth) and returning asistant-coach Ryan Demorest (Limestone), the Netherlands has added William Bjorness (Hartwick) and Jared Fotis (Amsterdam Lions) to the coaching staff. Major League Lacrosse today held its 2013 Supplemental Draft, giving teams the opportunity to build out their 23-man protected rosters to a 40-man preseason roster. The draft consisted of 12 rounds and the Charlotte Hounds had nine picks, including the third overall. With that pick, the Hounds selected attackman Tim Desko, a 2012 graduate of Syracuse Univ. A panel of lacrosse experts and coaches selected 40 of the nation’s top high school lacrosse players to compete in the 2012 ESPNHS Warrior 40 Competition. The third annual Warrior 40 Competition, operated by ESPNHS, will be held at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo., August 13-15.
