As I am sure you could imagine my phone and email has been quite busy the last few days. I am writing to you tonight for two reasons. Firstly I want to let you all know how much I respect the process that takes place when decisions of this magnitude take place, I have the utmost respect for the committee, coaches and the game we all love and any decision that is made I will honor and abide by. BALTIMORE, Nov. 18, 2013 — US Lacrosse today announced the 2014 men’s post-collegiate rules for players ranging from recently graduated college players through age 45-and-older. The US Lacrosse Men’s Game Committee and US Lacrosse Board of Directors approved the rules, which are the result of modifications to the current NCAA men’s rules that focus primarily on age-appropriate checking and body contact. BALTIMORE, Sept. 30, 2013 – US Lacrosse today released its new online instructional course, How to Make Proper Contact in Men’s & Boys’ Lacrosse, free of charge to all of its members. After several years of development and collaboration with professionals in martial arts, gymnastics and other contact sports, US Lacrosse has developed the course to help reduce the number of injuries resulting from illegal and hard hits by teaching proper technique to deliver and receive contact in men’s and boys’ lacrosse. A ruling that had banned the use of the “motorcycle” grip on faceoffs in men’s lacrosse has been reversed. After reviewing membership feedback, the NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Rules Committee retracted a decision made at its August meeting and decided to allow players to use the grip on faceoffs.
