Duke Visits Virginia Friday for ACC Lacrosse Showdown

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The Virginia Cavaliers (10-1, 2-0 ACC) hold the top spot in the nation, ranking No. 1 this week in the USILA coaches and Nike/Inside Lacrosse media polls. UVa returns home to host the Duke Blue Devils (10-3, 1-1 ACC), who are ranked No. 7 in both the coaches and media polls, and winners of seven straight. Faceoff is set for 6 p.m., inside Klöckner Stadium. The winner will claim the regular season ACC title and the No. 1 seed in the upcoming ACC Championship in Charlottesville. Ryan Benincasa Lifts No. 1 UVa Over No. 3 Syracuse, 14-10

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Colin Briggs scored three goals and assisted another to help the No. 1 Virginia Cavaliers (5-0) top the No. 3 Syracuse Orange (2-1) on Sunday evening, 14-10, in front of 5,855 fans inside Klöckner Stadium. UVa now owns a 15-13 record all-time against the Orange and the four-goal win serves as the largest margin of victory by either team in the series since the Cavaliers won 17-10 in the 2006 NCAA Semifinal round.
