WASHINGTON, May 10, 2012 – The Tewaaraton Foundation has announced the 2012 Tewaaraton Award men’s and women’s finalists lists, presented by Panama Jack. Five men and five women were selected as finalists and will be invited to Washington, D.C. for the 12th annual Tewaaraton Award Ceremony, May 31 at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of the American Indian. DENVER – Steele Stanwick scored a career-high six goals and finished with seven points to lead the No. 6 Virginia Cavaliers (11-3) to a 10-8 victory over the Penn Quakers (3-10), Friday evening at the Whitman’s Sampler Mile High Classic, inside Sports Authority Field and Mile High. Shootout for Soldiers, 24 Hour Lacrosse Game to Benefit Wounded Warrior Project

A group of local, high school students has organized what stands to be a world-record breaking event called Shootout for Soldiers. The Shootout is a 24-hour lacrosse game with all proceeds going to support the Wounded Warrior Project in its effort to aid wounded US soldiers. The event, which will be held at The Boys’ Latin School of Maryland on June 14-15th, will seek to use the common platform of lacrosse to unite local area lacrosse players ages 10+ in the common benefit of the Wounded Warrior Project.
