Griffo Wins Player of the Year; Spartans Place Nine on DSC All-Conference Team

WINGATE, N.C. – The University of Tampa men’s lacrosse team won its second straight Deep South Conference regular season title and Monday nine players were named to the DSC All-Conference Team.

For the second straight year, Greg Griffo was a first-team selection for the Spartans. Joey McMahan, Jasper Gantick, Eric Dance, Larry Gress, and Trevor Calleja were named second-team All-DSC, while Joseph Fiorucci, Kyle Hemrick, and Ryan Becker received honorable mention recognition. Read More…

University of Tampa to Dedicate New 90,000 Square-Foot Field, Lacrosse Complex

TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa will dedicate the Naimoli Family Athletic and Intramural Complex on Kennedy Boulevard on Friday, April 5 at 7:25 p.m. The first men’s lacrosse game on the new field will follow immediately at 8 p.m., versus Rollins College. The dedication will begin with a ribbon cutting at the front of the stadium. UT President Ronald L. Vaughn and other campus and community leaders will speak. Then, at 7:45 p.m., special guests, including lead donor Vince Naimoli, will be recognized with a special on-field dedication. Spartans Roll Up Their Sleeves and Take Care of Catawba, 17-10

TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa men’s lacrosse team scored four first quarter goal to propel them to a 17-10 win over Catawba, Saturday afternoon at Pepin Stadium. Tampa Loses a Close One to No. 3 Limestone

GAFFNEY, S.C. – The University of Tampa lost its second game of the season to No. 3 Limestone College by a score of 13-7. Tampa drops to 4-2 while Limestone remains undefeated at 6-0. University of Tampa Spartans Weather the Storm With Win Against Coker College

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The University of Tampa (3-0, 2-0) lacrosse team extends its win streak to three games to start the season with a 10-4 win against Coker College. Coker drops to 1-3 on the season. It took less than two minutes for the Spartans to score, with A.J. DeSimone putting up his team leading fifth of the season. TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa lacrosse team is set to begin its highly anticipated inaugural season on Friday against conference rival Florida Southern College at 7 p.m., at Pepin Stadium.
