BALTIMORE — A record total of 722,205 players competed on organized lacrosse teams in 2012, as reported in the annual US Lacrosse Participation Report released today. BALTIMORE, March 19, 2013 — US Lacrosse today announced it will accept team registrations for the US Lacrosse Championships, powered by Lacrosse Unlimited, through Thursday, April 25 at uslacrosse.org/events. The US Lacrosse Championships are the only summertime youth lacrosse tournaments administered by the sport’s national governing body, open to boys’ and girls’ teams in the U11, U13 and U15 age divisions. BALTIMORE, Feb. 15, 2013 — US Lacrosse today announced Lacrosse Unlimited as the official retailer of the US Lacrosse Regional and Under-15 National Championships. The two-year sponsorship includes five youth tournaments hosted by lacrosse’s national governing body. BALTIMORE, Feb. 6, 2013 — US Lacrosse has announced Mike Jolly of Clinton, Mich., as the 2012 Gerald J. Carroll Exemplary Coaching Award recipient. Jolly has served in his current coaching capacity for the De La Salle Collegiate High School varsity boys’ lacrosse team for the past 29 years and has coached numerous football, basketball and baseball teams for more than five decades, dating back to 1960. BALTIMORE — US Lacrosse today announced the 18-player U.S. Women’s National Team that is set to compete in the 2013 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Cup, July 11-20 in Oshawa, Ontario. The U.S. women’s national team will look to defend its 2009 gold medal and earn its seventh overall world title. The team was selected from a 25-player U.S. women’s national training team roster, which was previously selected from a group of 38 players comprising the 2012-14 U.S. women’s national team. BALTIMORE, Jan. 9, 2013 — The US Lacrosse National Convention, presented by Champion, and the US Lacrosse Fan Fest, sponsored by Moe’s Southwest Grill of Philadelphia and deBeer/Gait Lacrosse, will bring upwards of 6,000 lacrosse coaches, officials, administrators and fans to the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Downtown Marriott Friday through Sunday.
