VMI Lacrosse Moves to SoCon in 2015



SPARTANBURG, S.C. – When the Virginia Military Institute transitions back to the Southern Conference following the 2013-14 athletic year, lacrosse will be coming as well. In a joint effort between the Atlantic Sun Conference, in which VMI will compete in 2014, and the Southern Conference, the latter will take over stewardship of the lacrosse league beginning in 2014-15, making men’s lacrosse the SoCon’s 20th sport. VMI Lacrosse Announces Road-Heavy 2013 Schedule



LEXINGTON, Va. — The wheels on the bus will go round and round and round and round for the Virginia Military Institute lacrosse team, which announced its road-heavy 2013 schedule on Thursday afternoon.

The Keydets, heading into their third season under head coach Brian Anken, will play in Lexington just four times this season while playing nine road games in their 13-game slate. Over the course of the regular season, the Keydets will log nearly 7,000 miles on the road, half of which will come in the first six games of the year. Read More…
