LEXINGTON, Va. - After a year with just four games in Lexington, the Virginia Military Institute men’s lacrosse team has announced its schedule for the 2014 season, which features seven home games, including two against service academies. VMI has one scrimmage date on the calendar as the Keydets head to Bellarmine University on Jan. 25. VMI will play two games in Louisville, Ky., one against the host institution and the second against Division II startup Tusculum College. Read More...

Annually, we witness football players from Navy and Army duke it out in the most popular rivalry in all of football. One of the many storylines laced in the game commentary is the destination for the Seniors upon graduating from their respective service academies. Traditionally, Virginia Military Institute's (VMI) school colors are Red, White and Yellow. This year they one-up Yellow and go with Gold helmets. The Cascade Pro7 helmet also displays a Red visor, strap and chin. When asked about the sparsity of decals, "we make our guys earn their stripes," VMI replied. Expect to see strong decals come Spring time.
