I wanted to share photos I took yesterday for the Dominican lacrosse schedule/media guide. Five Dominican University of California men's lacrosse players have been named to the preseason All-Western Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association team and the Penguins have been pegged as preseason favorites to win the WILA. Since Easton entered the lacrosse industry they have played a big role in inspirational projects. They were present at Play For Parkinson's in October and now they unite with Native Vision. Native Vision uses sport as a way to mentor Native American youths who have to face harsh realities that most kids don't have to deal with. Check out the brand new Verdict Store as a part of Zach Heffner's Verdict Photography Company. He is selling two 16x24 Limited Edition, signed and numbered Team USA Indoor Lacrosse posters. All of the proceeds are going to the USIL to help fund Team USA and their upcoming trip to Prague for the 2011 World Games.
These shots come from a recent USA Indoor promo shoot with defenseman, Eric Martin. We were able to have all four of Eric's team jerseys and helmets on hand for the shoot so we put together this 'Warhol-like' poster to show the many faces of 'E-Mart.' It was our first collaboration since our US Lacrosse Mag cover last year and we wanted to do something kinda cool.
Recently I was commissioned to shoot some photos for J. Serra High School located out here in the Bay Area. As lacrosse is spreading across the country some schools out west are getting it right. The photo shoot was conceived to gain some attention from it's student athletes for the school's new lacrosse program.
Earlier this spring I was contacted by US Lacrosse Magazine to shoot their first ever 'West Coast' cover featuring good friend and former teammate, Eric Martin. 'EMart' as we call him, was just named to Team USA (who just won gold a few weeks back) and was down for giving the magazine an 'edgier' shoot than maybe they were used to.
