'Terps Head Women's Lax Coach Cathy Reese to Hold Clinic @ LaxEvo King of Prussia Training Center

King of Prussia, PA — October, 2010 — Lacrosse Evolution (www.lacrosseevolution.com) is excited to announce that Cathy Reese, the University of Maryland women’s lacrosse head coach, will be holding a players clinic on October 27th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lacrosse Evolution’s King of Prussia Training Center (201 E. King Manor Drive — 484-684-7011). The clinic is open to girls ages 8 -18 as well as coaches looking to improve their knowledge of the game, the cost of admission is $25.

“We are really excited about having Cathy come to our facility and share her knowledge and passion for lacrosse with the kids in our area,” said Tom Slate, President and CEO of Lacrosse Evolution and current associate head coach for the MLL Denver Outlaws and defensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Wings in the MLL. “Cathy’s passion for the game can only be matched by her love for working with kids. As anyone who has ever picked up a lacrosse stick will tell you, we feel it is our responsibility to help grow the sport and develop the next generation of players.”


In 2010, Reese led the ‘Terps to their first NCAA Division I national championship in nine years and along the way captured the Atlantic Coast Championship for the second year in a row. Coach Reese’s accolades also include being named the IWCLA National Coach of the Year for 2010 and the ACC Co-Coach of the Year for a third time in a her four seasons at the University of Maryland. She has also coached the ACC Player of the year in ’07, ’08, ’09 and ’10 and “Rookie of the Year” recipients in ’09 and ’10. Additionally, Cathy has coached five Tewaarton finalists, one Tewaarton winner, 16 All-American’s and 18 All-ACC selections.

Coach Reese teaches from experience, she is a former student-athlete standout at the University of Maryland from 1995-98, was a two-time All-American selection and was named the NCAA Tournament’s Most Valuable Player in her senior year. Also in 1998, Cathy was the second-leading scorer on the ‘Terps championship team with 58 goals and 25 assists. She finished her playing career with 140 goals, 77 assists, and 217 points.
