As most LPG readers know, lacrosse is a team sport of Native American origin, played by warriors for the glory of the Creator. It is a game of both sport and spirituality for Native Peoples. We believe a new book, The Creator’s Game: A Story of Baaga’adowe/Lacrosse, will make a great Holiday gift. This book for readers ages 8-12 is about a young Native American boy named Travis Skinaway who is feeling discouraged by his lack of skill on his lacrosse team, but he is buoyed up by learning the historical and cultural importance of the game to his ancestors.
