Third Annual Maverik Showtime Lacrosse “National Recruiting Spotlight,” July 12th-15th

Long Island City, NY – June 28, 2010 – The athletic fields on the campus of Western Connecticut State University, in Danbury (Fairfield County), CT, will be packed with 160 of the fastest rising sophomore and junior high school lacrosse players on July 12th through the 15th when the invitation only third annual Maverik Showtime Lacrosse – “National Recruiting Spotlight” (www.showtimelax.com) takes place.

Maverik Showtime Lacrosse – “National Recruiting Spotlight” breaks down each day into three sessions including position specific skill drills and at least two formatted games for evaluation purposes. Players will have the opportunity to be instructed and individually assessed by coaches from top Division I, II and III programs (i.e. Syracuse, Johns Hopkins, Hofstra, Cornell, Princeton University, Brown University, Albany University, North Carolina and the University of Virginia).

“Maverik Showtime gives 160 top players the opportunity to been seen by college coaches from Division 1, 2 & 3 all in one place over 4 days,” said John Gagliardi, founder and President of Maverik Lacrosse. “Being an invite only event makes it a very competitive environment for all these great players. The Maverik Showtime Lacrosse — “National Recruiting Spotlight” is the brain child of Joe Ceglia, Mike Springer and ESPN color commentator Paul Carcaterra, who all achieved All-American and National Championship careers at Syracuse University, and are immersed in lacrosse as coaches at the high school and collegiate levels, are nationally recognized camp directors, broadcasters and are professional lacrosse players.
