(Istanbul), Turkey, (February 06, 2013) – Marty Lattman has been instrumental to Turkey Lacrosse in his recent appointment to the role of Managing Director of Coaching, and now he will also assume the role of head coach.
Marty is well qualified for the position. He has almost twenty years of experience as a head lacrosse coach at the youth, high school, and college levels. As a Level 2 Certified Coaches Trainer for U.S. Lacrosse, he has conducted more than 50 clinics around the United States over the last 6 years. His wide range of experiences will be very helpful as he works with players of all levels in Turkey.
As head coach, Marty will play a huge part in helping to select members for the Turkish national team. Turkey Lacrosse is currently accepting applications for support positions, especially in preparation for the upcoming team tryouts in June followed by the exhibition match with Israel, which will be broadcast on national Israeli television.
“I am ecstatic to be the head coach of the Turkish national team. I enjoy my administrative role as Managing Director of Coaching, but my primary reason for joining the Turkish Lacrosse Association (TLA) was to be there to watch the Turkish lacrosse players grow. As head coach, this will really give me a chance to see that.”
Members of TLA are equally excited. President and founder of TLA, Patrick Dougherty, remarked that, “Marty’s dedication to the TLA made our decision to appoint him as head coach an easy one. I look forward to helping him choose our national team and lead them in our match against Israel this summer.”
