Turkey Lacrosse Hires Marty Lattman as Managing Director of Coaching

(Istanbul), Turkey, (February 08, 2013) – Turkey Lacrosse is excited to announce the appointment of their second Executive Officer, Marty Lattman, an expert strategic planning consultant and Level 2 Certified Coaches Trainer for U.S. Lacrosse, to the position of Managing Director of Coaches.

Marty played intercollegiate lacrosse at Wooster College, and then club lacrosse at Cornell University. He has almost twenty years of experience as a head lacrosse coach at the youth, high school, and college levels. As a Level 2 Certified Coaches Trainer for U.S. Lacrosse, he has conducted more than 50 clinics around the United States over the last 6 years. Now he is setting his sights on the international scene.

When asked why he wanted to join Turkey Lacrosse, Marty responded, “I’ve wanted to get involved in the growing sport on the international level for a while, but I have been waiting for the right opportunity. Considering Turkey’s rich athletic history, their strong emphasis on education, and TLA’s dedicated leadership, joining TLA was really a no-brainer.”

As the Managing Director of Coaching, Marty will be in charge of developing a strong cadre of coaches in Turkey to help spread the game. Additionally, his experience in strategic planning will be instrumental in helping Turkey Lacrosse develop a set of goals for their mission and in the continuous development of the organization.

“We are extremely excited that our organization has Marty’s support,” says Turkey Lacrosse Executive Director, Patrick Dougherty. “His expertise in organizational management and coaching experience will be invaluable to our mission in Turkey.”

Turkey Lacrosse will host the 2013 Turkey Lacrosse Open in September at an all-inclusive resort in the southern coastal city of Alanya. It will feature 16 men’s teams, 10 women’s teams, instructional clinics featuring Jordan Hall, and is being sponsored by Redbull and Reebok. Turkey also recently added Johnny Christmas and Kyle Sweeney to their Board of Advisors.
