UMBC Club Lacrosse Uniforms and Gear

The UMBC Club Lacrosse team decided to take their talents to sunny California by reaching out to Pro Athletics to manufacture their uniforms for the upcoming season. Lacrosse Unlimited also chipped in by printing the helmet decals. Both, the decals and uniforms have the Maryland state flag emblazoned in UMBC’s colors, Gold and Black. To insure quality, a member of the team designed everything.

In terms of the design itself, it’s primarily the Maryland flag used as a pattern. I recolored the flags to make them UMBC colors. I initially whipped up the shorts design when I entered into your contest for the 40 free shorts. I made it to the finals and ended up losing, but the designs were very well received by the team/community so we decided to get them made anyway. — UMBC Men’s Club Lacrosse Vice President Bobby Kwan

But, the team didn’t stop there. They coordinated their first design with a contrast design for reversible shorts and tops.

As for the influence, there was no outside influence on the idea of the design itself, I personally wanted the shorts to be unique and one-of-a-kind.

The Yellow flag definitely stands out and we love the continued trend with Maryland teams this year.

Stevenson has had jerseys similar to these for years… So how about you learn what you’re talking about and stop saying everything is a ripoff from UMD

once again, pics or it didn’t happen. a quick google search brought up nothing.

and once again, they are free to use the flag as they please, as the flag isn’t owned by local maryland universities.

i wonder how many times i have to repeat myself before people get my point..

You all need to stop bitching and need to just shut the fuck up. No one cares what you think.

so, anything with a maryland flag is an immediate ripoff of anything college park makes, right?

When the football makes a big statement with the Maryland flag unis fall, then yes all of the teams using the maryland flag in their design would be considered a rip off.
These are not unique because of that. Stevenson has done it now too. It is becoming ridiculous.

but at least UMBC’s instance at least goes along with their school colors, there was no way that stevenson could get their green school color to go along with the yellow/red/black/white maryland flag, it just sorta clashes like a hot mess

people need to keep in mind that it’s the maryland STATE flag, not the UMD College Park flag. i’m sure with a little tweaking, salisbury could use the flag in their uniforms or even frostburg.
