US Lacrosse, Major League Lacrosse Team Up for 2013 MLL Collegiate Draft

BALTIMORE, MD, Nov. 26, 2012 – US Lacrosse and Major League Lacrosse today announced that the 2013 Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft will take place Friday, Jan. 11, in Philadelphia as part of the 2013 US Lacrosse National Convention, presented by Champion.

The draft begins at 8:30 p.m. in the Liberty Ballroom of the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown. The draft is open to the public, and admission is free.

“We’re delighted Major League Lacrosse will be returning its draft to our national convention,” said Beth Porreca, director of special events at US Lacrosse. “The draft had a very festive atmosphere at the convention last year, and should again be a popular destination following Dick Vermeil’s keynote address at 7 p.m. We always appreciate the opportunity to work with Major League Lacrosse on win-win initiatives such as this.”

“We’d like to thank US Lacrosse for working to include our collegiate draft into an impressive lineup of activities at the US Lacrosse National Convention,” said David Gross, commissioner of Major League Lacrosse. “I was thrilled with the atmosphere at our draft last year, and it’s a great evening for lacrosse fans of all ages as we find out who may be our League’s next stars. The 2013 draft should be quite strong.”

The MLL Collegiate Draft will consist of eight rounds. The order for the first round of the draft is:

1. Ohio
2. Hamilton
3. Charlotte
4. Charlotte (from Rochester)
5. Long Island
