Vail Lacrosse Shootout Day Seven

Weather was the name of the game Friday at the Vail Lacrosse Shootout. Delays impacted almost every division with several games not finishing till well after 5:00pm. However, the rain was a welcome respite from the dry, hot weather Colorado has been engulfed in and provided some much needed moisture to the Vail mountains.

The Grandmasters division championship will take place Saturday with a rematch of last year’s title game between Los Viejos and the Eldeststatesmen. The Statesmen look to win the division for the fourth straight year.

The Supermasters had their first day of bracket play and will have the semi-finals tomorrow at 10:30 and 12:30 in Ford Park. 2011 champions, the C2C Magic Wands, will take on Millennium/ Rock-it-Pocket in the first game. Yellowdog will face the Elderstatesmen in the final semi-final.

In the Dr. Tom Watts Memorial U-19 tournament, all the top seeds advanced to tomorrows semi-finals in Avon. Brady’s Bunch will take on Team Colorado and FCA matches up against Laxachusetts. The first semi-final is at 11:00 in Nottingham Park and the second is at 1:00pm

The U-19 High School Girl finished their second day of pool play and now have been split into the Gold, Silver and Bronze brackets. The gold bracket quarter-finals will all be held at 10:30 in Edwards with the semi-finals at 2:15.

Both the boy’s and girl’s U-19 tournament will receive coverage from iHigh.com tomorrow, footage can be seen at ihigh.com/vaillacrosse.
