Vancouver, BC (Thursday, April 30, 2015) – The Vancouver Stealth and CitySideLax announced a strategic partnership to develop youth lacrosse players in the Pacific Northwest. The partnership aims to advance skills and lacrosse IQ, and increase the number and quality of competitive events for rising players. Importantly, the duo will bring a set of instruction using both box and field lacrosse that has been proven to quickly improve athlete skills and game wisdom for any age player.

Curtis Hodgson, Director of Stealth Lacrosse Academy, said this about the relationship, “It was important for us to partner with an organization that shares our desire to provide a positive environment for developing players. We always play to win, but we also want kids to love the game and learn other lessons. We’ve known and played lacrosse with the CitySideLax founders for years and have the greatest respect for what they’ve developed.”

CitySideLax co-founder Chris O’Dougherty responded, “We are extremely excited about our partnership with the Vancouver Stealth. After being a part of the Stealth organization as a player for the past six years, I’m thrilled to join the Vancouver Stealth’s efforts to grow the game. Our organization, CitySideLax is looking forward to the opportunity to continue to make a positive impact as coaches. We believe the Vancouver Stealth and newly named Director of Stealth Lacrosse Academy, Curtis Hodgson can help us deliver our mission of “Perfecting F.U.N.”

The Stealth have been conducting youth box lacrosse camps and clinics in the Pacific Northwest since 2009. Its Junior Stealth program consists of invited players who compete in box lacrosse tournaments across the United States and Canada. Since its founding, Junior Stealth teams have won medals in prestigious events, including the Canada Day Tournament in Calgary, the largest box lacrosse tournament in the world; USBOXLA Nationals, one of the top box lacrosse tournaments in the U.S.; Battle in the Box, and the National Lacrosse League’s Junior Tournament.

Founded by National Lacrosse League and Major League Lacrosse pros Drew Snider and Chris O’Dougherty, CitySideLax has quickly developed into one the Pacific Northwest’s premier lacrosse training and travel teams. The founders developed a training model based on F.U.N. (Fundamentals, Understanding, and Next level) that has earned CitySideLax respect from players, parents, and coaches in the region.

In 2009, Adam O’Neill, Harry Alford and Thomas Alford launched Lacrosse Playground as the preeminent site for lacrosse gearheads. For years Lacrosse Playground provided lacrosse fans with tutorials and tips on how to string a lacrosse head, up-close looks at the gear the top players used and sneak peeks at equipment and uniforms before they were released. More than 10 years and millions of visits later, Lacrosse Playground has relaunched with a focus on storytelling. Our mission is to provide comprehensive coverage of the latest lacrosse news, share insights into the sports betting and fantasy lacrosse world and showcase the lifestyles and personalities of the sport of lacrosse through articles, videos and podcasts.
