Adrenaline is proud to announce their newest family member, 2014 first team All-American goaltender and Kelly award winner, Niko Amato. Amato was drafted 29th overall by the Florida Launch upon graduation from the University of Maryland, where he was a 2x All-American and a Kelly Award winner- which is given to the top NCAA goaltender at the end of each season. Amato was also named 2014 ACC Defensive Player of the Year, elected as team captain, and was the first goalie in history to be named All-ACC four years in a row.
Niko has one of the most impressive college resumes around, but we at Adrenaline see him as much more than a great lacrosse player. Niko shares our passion for lacrosse and realizes the importance of passing it on to the next generation. We couldn’t be happier to finally have Niko play a role in the growing Adrenaline Family, and we know he will be continue to be a great ambassador for the game and our community. – Alex Cade, President Adrenaline Lacrosse
Along with playing LXM PRO, Amato will be focusing his energy on his new company—Aphillyated, which specializes in private and group lessons as well as goalie clinics.
Here’s what Niko had to say about the signing:
“For the past six years I’ve been a huge fan of Adrenaline and everything that they represent. Adrenaline has managed to stay ahead of the curve with producing the best lacrosse apparel in the game. Adrenaline has been able to outfit the game’s best, while also being nationally competitive with their Starz program. The Starz program continues to grow exponentially and develop the next generation of players in the Division 1, 2, and 3 college ranks. Not only has Adrenaline made their mark by producing the Starz of tomorrow, they have also been able to push the envelope and create their very own professional lacrosse league with the LXM pro tour. This still amazes me and I am extremely appreciative for their innovation, which allows more lacrosse to be played at the highest level.
After college, teaming up with Adrenaline became a no-brainer. I love how they have become a national brand that expands across the country. Adrenaline represents lacrosse players from coast to coast. I have been fortunate enough to grow up playing lacrosse in the Philadelphia area, and then continue playing college lacrosse at the University of Maryland. Upon graduation I have played in the MLL and I am staying involved with lacrosse by spreading my knowledge of the game to kids along the east coast, midwest, down south, and west coast. I think Adrenaline gives me the best chance to maximize the amount of players I can reach of all ages and different areas. I am super excited about joining the Adrenaline family and becoming an ambassador for the company and the sport of lacrosse!”
In 2009, Adam O’Neill, Harry Alford and Thomas Alford launched Lacrosse Playground as the preeminent site for lacrosse gearheads. For years Lacrosse Playground provided lacrosse fans with tutorials and tips on how to string a lacrosse head, up-close looks at the gear the top players used and sneak peeks at equipment and uniforms before they were released. More than 10 years and millions of visits later, Lacrosse Playground has relaunched with a focus on storytelling. Our mission is to provide comprehensive coverage of the latest lacrosse news, share insights into the sports betting and fantasy lacrosse world and showcase the lifestyles and personalities of the sport of lacrosse through articles, videos and podcasts.
