We've all been in a position where we've broken a sidewall string in the middle of a game. That got Lacrosse Playground's resident stick-stringer thinking how he could do something to strengthen the sidewall strings and lengthen their life. Max came up with the Rubber Sidewall Experiment, where he tested melting rubber onto the sidewall strings. Still in its conceptual stage, here are his initial results:

K18: What's the deal with the turtle?

We noticed there was a turtle icon on the throat of the new K18 head and on the new K18 arm guards. We also noticed a lot of people wondering why. To find out, we went to the source. Here's what Kyle Harrison had to say about the turtle symbol appearing on his new line:
Turtles in my family have always been good luck (as they are in many other cultures as well, as you know). If you go to my parents’ house there are over 100 turtles around from pictures to sculptures to hide-a-key things, and everything else you can imagine. The turtle on the stick is actually the tattoo I've got on my left leg. [It's] just a family symbol and STX was nice enough to let me incorporate it into my entire new equipment line.

Maverik Lacrosse to Launch Customization Section on Web Site

Lacrosse Playground has learned that Maverik Lacrosse will launch a new portion to its Web site in the coming months that will allow players to customize their gear. Now, players will be able to customize their favorite Maverik gear in the colors of their choosing. The launch of the site is still a month or two away, but the site will allow users to customize some Maverik arm guards, equipment bags, and gloves, including the Dynasty, Fox and Maybach.
