Boissonnea​ult Net’s 200th Career Goal As Titans Fall To California


SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Four Titans scored on the day and the Titans kept on fighting, but the Detroit women’s lacrosse team ended its California road trip with an 18-9 setback to California.

The game was played at San Diego State’s Aztec Field, but due to conflicting events, the contest was not stated at game time. Official stats will be posted once they are known.

Seniors Emily Boissonneault (Brooklin, ON/Donald A. Wilson), Anna Eidem (Champlin, MN/Totino-Grace) and Corina Mahorn (Whitby, ON/Anderson CVI) along with sophomore Tara Grady (San Jose, CA/Pioneer) all scored in the game, with Boissonneault notching at least two goals to reach 200 for her career.

UDM (1-4) was down 6-3 with about five minutes left in the first half when California (2-2) scored three-straight to take a 9-3 advantage at the break.

Detroit kept on playing hard, but could not get over the deficit trailing 12-6 with 20 minutes left in the game before eventually falling, 18-9.

The Titans will now return to the Motor City and for their home opener on Sunday when the red, white and blue host St. Bonaventure. Game time is set for Noon at Titan Field. Tickets to the game are set at $5 for adults and $3 for children 13 and under and senior citizens.
