Last week LPG introduced you to an up and coming band with ties to lacrosse, VOODOO FARM. This week we bring you Sick Feed. Named after a catch phrase on the lax field, Sick Feed is nestled in the Washington, D.C. area, but you may have already seen them up and down the east coast performing live at Major League Lacrosse games. Front man, Tom Snedeker, sits down and enlightens us on Sick Feed as well as his opinions on the future of the MLL.
Boathouse Sports, a Philadelphia-based manufacturer of custom team athletic apparel, announced that it will partner with professional lacrosse players John Christmas (Boston Cannons) and Eric Gregg (Philadelphia Barrage) on their groundbreaking LEAPS (Lacrosse, Education, Attitude, Perseverance and Success) initiative to give under served youth in the greater Philadelphia area, the opportunity to learn and play the sport of lacrosse.
If you haven’t heard of Lax Timer yet you may hear a lot about it in the upcoming season. Lax Timer, developed by a father/son duo, is a Windows based program to time a lacrosse game, control the main game time, and up to 6 penalty timers with one button. Lax Timer will virtually leave the game management from the scorer’s table flawless as well as reduce the room for human error. In other words: game management just got simpler. You may have heard rumblings about a new movie in the works called 'Transition'. Based on the true story of the younger brother of Anthony Bradford (writer/producer), the film follows a high school star who battles cancer to regain a spot on his varsity team. The soundtrack features Mikey Powell, who contributed a collection of his songs for the film. “This isn’t just a lacrosse film, but the film also has the purpose to raise awareness of Pediatric Cancer,” says Bradford.

Lacrosse Playground recently interviewed Stefan Craine, the creator and founder, of the B-Lax Blast. The Blast is essentially a "regulation lacrosse ball attached to a cord that attaches to any stick." Once the Blast is latched on to the head you toss the ball and the ball retracts back to your pocket. Check out the video and more info from the B-Lax creator himself on why he felt it was necessary to develop this product.
The Syracuse lacrosse team was honored this past weekend receiving their championship rings after a great run last spring. Winning championships is nothing new to the Orange; however, LPG noticed something different about the configuration of the rings from years past. LPG also gets an in depth analysis from former Orangeman John Wright('04) about the special meaning behind each ring.

I was driving into work today, taking time between lights to contemplate the future direction of my life and how I could loosen the vice the man has placed on me. As I thought back, I found myself fixating on two things, my passion for the sport of lacrosse, and my sincere ambition to contribute to the growth of the game.

The band of the week is a tight East coast group called VOODOO FARM. Our friend, Liam Dirlam, was able to take time out of his busy schedule to kick some knowledge with us over the weekend. As the DJ/Synth/Vocalist for the band, he is in charge of keeping the band's beat on point. What's the lacrosse connection?
