BALTIMORE, July 3, 2013 — US Lacrosse today announced that applications are available for the head coach of the 2017 U.S. Women’s National Team. The head coach will begin his or her term in fall 2013 and will lead Team USA through the 2017 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Cup in Guildford, England.

The head coach is primarily responsible for the training, selection, coaching and leadership of the U.S. Women’s National Team. He or she will have significant competitive lacrosse coaching experience and a demonstrated record of successes on the field as a coach and mentor to athletes. Ricky Fried (Georgetown University) is currently leading Team USA in its quest for a seventh world title in Oshawa, Ontario, this month.

“This is a truly special opportunity for a coach to leave his or her mark on the lacrosse community domestically and internationally,” said Nathaniel Badder, US Lacrosse Director of National Teams. “The experience of coaching a U.S. National Team is a tremendously rewarding one, affording the coach a chance to work with the top players and coaches in the country.”

Applications are due to US Lacrosse by July 28. The head coach is expected to be announced on or about August 26.
