Duke Football Player Loses Fight To Duke Lacrosse Player

According to Andrew Beaton of the Duke Chronicle Duke football wide receiver, Johnell Barnes, suffered injuries from a fight with Sophomore middie, John Shaffer. Shaffer, who has Barnes beat in size by 2″ and 10 lbs, apparently had an altercation with the Freshman football player at 1am in popular Durham bar, Shooters. Barnes has been seen wearing a cast around campus. Both coaches have declined to comment.

Shaffer is a Delbarton product who registered two goals in his Freshman campaign. Barnes is the main kickoff returner for the Blue Devils. Bar fights happen more often than you think. Hopefully both parties have squashed it.
