The great fans of the National Lacrosse League will once again come together this summer to play the game they love, while raising money for charity. The 2012 Fann Cup, a lacrosse tournament of teams comprised of fans of the NLL, will be played on Saturday, July 28th in Minneapolis/St. Paul suburb of Blaine, Minnesota. The host team this year is the Minnesota Stingers, a team comprised of fans of the Minnesota Swarm.

Fans from across North America gather every summer to get their taste of the NLL in the off-season, playing against fans of their rival teams while raising money for charity. The Fann Cup has raised more than $50,000 for various charities in the first ten year’s of the tournaments existence. This years charities include PawPADS, a service that trains dogs for the disabled, and Lax-4-Life. Lax-4-Life is an annual summer camp for Native American youth that teaches lacrosse as part of a healthy lifestyle and a way to connect with cultural heritage.

Lacrosse Playground

In 2009, Adam O’Neill, Harry Alford and Thomas Alford launched Lacrosse Playground as the preeminent site for lacrosse gearheads. For years Lacrosse Playground provided lacrosse fans with tutorials and tips on how to string a lacrosse head, up-close looks at the gear the top players used and sneak peeks at equipment and uniforms before they were released. More than 10 years and millions of visits later, Lacrosse Playground has relaunched with a focus on storytelling. Our mission is to provide comprehensive coverage of the latest lacrosse news, share insights into the sports betting and fantasy lacrosse world and showcase the lifestyles and personalities of the sport of lacrosse through articles, videos and podcasts.
