GameBreaker Lacrosse Announces MLL All-Star John Christmas as Director of West Coast Lacrosse Camps

GameBreaker Lacrosse is excited to announce former UVA star and MLL All-Star John Christmas will be the camp director at several summer lacrosse camps on the west coast this summer.

The first will be an overnight camp in Napa Valley, which will run July 17-20. He then will direct another overnight camp on the campus of UC Santa Barbara from July 31-August 3. He also will be directing day lacrosse camps in the Bay Area. GameBreaker Lacrosse is the nation’s leading provider of instructional lacrosse camps and has 125 locations nationwide.

Christmas stared at UVA from 2002-2005 where he was a two-time USILA All-American and two-time All-ACC selection, and helped lead the Cavaliers to the 2003 NCAA Division I Men’s Lacrosse Championship.

He was then drafted in the fifth round (49th overall) in the 2005 MLL Entry Draft. He won the MLL Most Improved Player honors in his second season in the league, and appeared in the 2006 MLL All-Star Game. Christmas was then named to Team USA in the 2007 World Indoor Lacrosse Championships.

Christmas has established a non-profit organization in Philadelphia called L.E.A.P.S. (Lacrosse, Education, Attitude, Perseverance, Success), which is a non-profit program designed to educate kids in inner city Philadelphia about the game of lacrosse and the importance of positive thinking. L.E.A.P.S goes along with GameBreaker’s commitment to the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA). The PCA provides a positive, character-building experience for all youth athletes and teaches them life lessons through sport.

He is also part of team Maverik. At Maverick Christmas has made a number of videos to help improve the skills of youth lacrosse players nationwide. These videos can be seen on YouTube. Here is one of Christmas breaking down how to split-dodge defenders.

Lacrosse Playground

In 2009, Adam O’Neill, Harry Alford and Thomas Alford launched Lacrosse Playground as the preeminent site for lacrosse gearheads. For years Lacrosse Playground provided lacrosse fans with tutorials and tips on how to string a lacrosse head, up-close looks at the gear the top players used and sneak peeks at equipment and uniforms before they were released. More than 10 years and millions of visits later, Lacrosse Playground has relaunched with a focus on storytelling. Our mission is to provide comprehensive coverage of the latest lacrosse news, share insights into the sports betting and fantasy lacrosse world and showcase the lifestyles and personalities of the sport of lacrosse through articles, videos and podcasts.
